A round dining table combining a mappa burl top cast with epoxy resin and a solid walnut vortex base. Burl is the most visually complex timber available — the swirling, knotted, unpredictable figure formed where a tree grew an abnormal mass — and paired with a tinted or clear resin it produces a surface unlike any straight-grained wood.
Available Diameters
- 48 in. — seats 5 to 6
- 51 in. and 55 in. — seats 6
- 59 in. and 63 in. — seats 7 to 8
- 67 in. and 71 in. — seats 8 to 10
Eleven Resin Colors
Glossy Clear, Opaque Black, Glossy Smoke, Pearl White, Opaque White, Pearl Blue, Pearl Green, Pearl Purple, Matte Clear, Matte Gray and Lagoon Blue. The choice changes the piece fundamentally: a clear or matte clear resin lets the burl dominate, an opaque color turns the resin into a graphic counterweight against it, and the pearl finishes introduce a shifting sheen that moves as you walk around the table.
Mappa Burl
Burl has no grain direction. It is a dense mass of dormant buds and swirling figure, which makes it spectacular to look at and demanding to work — it tears rather than cuts cleanly, and it contains voids that must be filled and stabilized. That is precisely where the resin earns its place: it locks the structure while leaving the figure visible.
The Vortex Base
The base is an edge-glued walnut vortex form — a twisting structure whose curves rotate as they rise, so the base reads differently from every approach. Leg finishes are available in original walnut, black, gold, silver or rose gold.
Every Table Is Produced New
The table shown in the photographs has been sold. Yours is made from scratch, which means the burl figure and the way the resin runs through it will be unique to your piece. Progress photographs are shared through production and the finished table is approved by you before it ships.
Production and Shipping
Custom orders take approximately 5–7 weeks. Free shipping across the United States, typically 2–5 business days after production.
Will my table look like the photographs?
The design, size and resin color will match your selections. The burl pattern is unique to the slab used for your table and cannot be reproduced exactly.
Which resin color should I choose?
Clear and matte clear let the burl carry the table. Opaque black or white create strong contrast. Pearl finishes shift with the light and suit rooms with changing daylight.
Can I see progress photographs?
Yes. Updates are sent through the crafting process and the finished table is approved before dispatch.

🧼 Care & Use Guide for Epoxy and Wood Products
- Especially for pnes with clear epoxy, protect from direct sunlight
- Avoid chemical cleaners. Use a slightly damp cloth for regular cleaning. For fingerprints or stains, you can use glass cleaner or vinegar water. If food spills, gently wipe the area. Leave oily spots if they don’t come off easily — the wood will absorb the oil, and it won’t be damaged.
- To preserve the wood’s color, shine, and durability, apply natural wood oils regularly (2-3 years). They nourish and protect the surface.
- Extreme heat and moisture can damage both wood and epoxy. Never place hot items like teapots or pans directly on the surface — always use a heat-resistant mat.
- When moving or assembling large, heavy pieces, take your time and ask for help to avoid damage.
