The smoked resin is what sets this version apart: rather than disappearing into the wood as a clear pour does, it reads as a distinct tinted element running through the top, giving the surface two clearly separate materials instead of one continuous plane.

The Tulip Base
The base is edge-glued walnut shaped into a tulip form — a single central stem flaring outward at the floor and again beneath the top. It is the calmest of the sculptural bases: symmetrical from every angle, so it does not compete with the pattern in the top, and it keeps the entire perimeter clear for chairs.
Walnut from Asia, Finished for American Interiors
The walnut used here is sourced for its density and figure, then dried, worked and finished in our workshop. It is a timber with genuine structural strength as well as appearance, which is what allows a tulip base to carry a 71-inch top on a single stem.
Customization
Size, resin color and finish are all adjustable. The standard specification is dark smoked resin, but any of our resin colors can be substituted.

Yes. Smoked is the standard for this design but any resin color can be specified.

- Especially for pnes with clear epoxy, protect from direct sunlight
- Avoid chemical cleaners. Use a slightly damp cloth for regular cleaning. For fingerprints or stains, you can use glass cleaner or vinegar water. If food spills, gently wipe the area. Leave oily spots if they don’t come off easily — the wood will absorb the oil, and it won’t be damaged.
- To preserve the wood’s color, shine, and durability, apply natural wood oils regularly (2-3 years). They nourish and protect the surface.
- Extreme heat and moisture can damage both wood and epoxy. Never place hot items like teapots or pans directly on the surface — always use a heat-resistant mat.
- When moving or assembling large, heavy pieces, take your time and ask for help to avoid damage.
